A new generation is learning to set dance as young people look for a sense of community and cultural connection. Different from céilí dancing, set dancing is derived from the quadrille and was adapted to Irish music when dance masters brought it to rural communities in the 19th century. Although waning in popularity over the past 100 years, it is now being rediscovered by a new generation in pockets across the country, including in Daingean Uí Chúis, Co Kerry, and in Dublin.
