In my classroom, every student deserves the chance to show what they know - not be limited by what they can’t do yet. For my students with IEPs who cannot spell grade-level words, I provide an accommodated spelling test. They still take the same assessment as their peers, but they are not graded on spelling, since that skill is directly impacted by their disability.
