Operating chainsaws is an essential part of CAL FIRE’s work -- before, during, and after wildfire responses. Before firefighters are qualified as a “Sawyer” they must undergo training and meet quality standards. Felling trees is dangerous work and it’s important that firefighters are properly trained.
