Probably the biggest planting mistake I see are people mis-reading their shade locations. If an area of your garden gets an hour or two of hot afternoon sun then you need to pick a plant that can handle full sun/partial sun. Plants like hostas and Brunnera prefer shade, but can tolerate some sun. And that little bit of sun that they tolerate cannot be hot afternoon sun. The plant will live in that location, but it won’t thrive in the edges of the plant will turn brown and burn. In these types of
