HDPE's recycling milestone enables brands to increase their packaging's circularity. HDPE recycling offers an enormous opportunity for cutting waste. Research reveals that recycled HDPE produces 70 - 80% less emissions than virgin plastic. Further, beverage brands have shown that a 1% increase in recycling can eliminate 2,000 tons of waste. Until recently, boosting HDPE recycling rates was hampered by pressure-sensitive labels’ inability to remove cleanly during the mechanical recycling process.
