The clunk test is often performed during the shoulder clinical exam to diagnosis a SLAP tear. Remember, SLAPs can occur for various reasons, but a Clunk Test is fairly general enough to be useful for most. I often related the Clunk Test to some of our meniscus tests in the knee.
