Animals have to get creative to survive the extreme heat of the desert. The shovel-snouted lizard dances to keep his feet from burning while the Namaqua chameleon controls it temperature by changing colour to either absorb or reflect light. It even goes a step further, with crystals in its skin to reflect even more light and stay cool.
