More than 200 wolves were slaughtered in just three days in Wisconsin last winter. Trappers in the state set painful leghold traps and strangulation snares that cut into the animals’ necks to snag their trophies. Others were chased down by packs of dogs, leaving many wolves to die unspeakably painful deaths out in the cold.
