This year marks the 50th anniversary of legendary Oregon runner Steve Prefontaine’s death. On May 30, 1975, Prefontaine was tragically killed in a car crash in Eugene. A small memorial, Pre’s Rock, sits at the site of that crash and has become a place of pilgrimage for runners.
