I’ve been experimenting with rust dyeing this week. These marks were made using a few rusty washers left in a jar of water and vinegar on my windowsill for a week. I didn’t have many rusty objects (and I was a bit impatient!) but I really wanted to give it a go. I even added some loose tea for texture, and the tannins reacted with the iron to create soft grey tones.
