MRSA In Your Nose👃🏽🤧 This is how we perform testing for MRSA of the Nares for pre-operative patients in the hospital. Why do we do this? 🧐 Because we want to reduce the spread of drug-resistant bugs in the hospital, especially in the operating room where patients are most vulnerable. Sooo.... ‼️ Your nose holes are swabbed with Q-tips, placed into a specimen transport tube, and sent down to the laboratory. We swab the Q-tip all over the petri dish and see what grows.
