The shooting left at least 12 dead, including one of the attackers, and multiple injured. Authorities say the second shooter is in critical condition. The case stemmed from a 2017 incident where Lujan used his official position to help a friend, former Española City Councilor Philip Chacon, evade police following a high-speed chase.
