It places a ton of stress on the lower back if you don’t have a clean forward fold. A forward fold is the prerequisite for hinging. If you can’t touch your toes with straight legs, deadlifts and hinge variations are almost always going to feel rough on your body. When the fold is there, hinges become far more accessible and sustainable. That doesn’t mean the forward fold is the
