Slope stabilisation projects are pivotal to road safety. Although the national road network is generally in good shape, many of South Africa's roads are more than 40 or 50 years old and need extensive maintenance in order to remain sustainable. In addition to the road surface, slopes in the road reserve also must be maintained.
