The Model S and Model X were game-changing cars, but they've met an unceremonious end as the factory used to make them will focus on building robots.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on an Wednesday earnings call that it would give the Model S and Model X electric vehicles an "honorable discharge" as the company moves away from its core EV business.
