Ahead of the finale, the Stranger Things fandom was brewing with speculation as to how the long-running series would conclude. The final episode of "Stranger Things" premieres New Year's Eve on Netflix and in select movie theaters.

Marshall also noted in the post that she told “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer about her health battle and “asked them to please not write me out [of the show] due to kindness or concern about my health.” She called the Duffer brothers “such lovely people I’m thrilled to know and have worked under.”
