While we will still be mild for sunrise, a northwest wind will cut into temperatures throughout the day, with snow and blowing snow likely by the afternoon.

Wintry precipitation remains a near-certainty for the Lehigh Valley region after Christmas, but how much snow and ice will fall remains in flux, according to forecasters.

“Across the Midwest and Great Lakes between Sunday and Monday, a powerful storm will take shape,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham. “The storm will bring risks for heavy snow, ice, severe thunderstorms, powerful wind gusts and heavy rain.”

Snow is just one part of the weather forecast this weekend. Bitter cold temperatures and gusty winds will also be in the mix.
