Microsoft shared a temporary workaround for customers experiencing Outlook freezes after installing this month's Windows security updates.

Windows 11 KB5074109 causes Outlook freezing for POP accounts. Microsoft confirms the issue and investigates a permanent fix.

If your Outlook Classic freezes or hangs when you use POP accounts or deal with PST files, you'll need to remove Windows 11 KB5074109.

The dilemma for millions of Windows users now is that Microsoft also warns that “while you might choose ultimately to uninstall a security update, you should know the risks associated with the uninstallation.” These include vulnerability to attacks, compromised personal information and potential data loss, Microsoft says.
