Digest more

Today will kick off the first of 4 Weather Days due to multiple rounds of severe storms potential. Large hail and strong wind are the primary threats with each round but a tornado or two will be possible on certain days at certain times.
Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain over portions of the Koolau mountains, central Oahu, and along the shoreline in leeward Oahu.
Summer-like heat continues for the rest of the weekend with unseasonably warm high temperatures. A slow, gradual cool-down is in store through this evening after a very warm afternoon. It won’t get as cool tonight with overnight lows only in the middle 60s as clouds increase across the Midlands.
Fire weather with very strong winds and very dry air continues. South winds have been gusting over 50 mph at times. Blowing dust has created issues on the roads due to impacts to visibility. There is also a lightning threat late afternoon and early evening.
Saturday & Sunday are still Weather Days due to the threat of several rounds of strong to severe storms developing both evenings. There could even by a few early Sunday AM too. Find the latest details regarding that severe potential here.
