Amazon is reportedly set to lay off another 14k employees on the heels of a similar number of layoffs in 2025.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), Prime Video, human resources, and retail are among the departments impacted, Reuters reports.

The company announced in a blog post on Wednesday that it is shutting down both its grocery and automated grab-and-go convenience stores, Amazon Fresh and Amazon Go, marking the end of yet another failed experiment to crack brick-and-mortar retail.

Amazon is set to lay off around 16,000 employees globally starting January 27, with corporate teams in India expected to be hit hardest. The expected job losses follow an earlier round in October 2025,

Amazon is expected to undergo another round of layoffs next week, according to an exclusive report from Reuters, in an effort to trim its workforce by approximately 30,000 employees.

Amazon's spokesperson has not commented on the announcement, but in its last round of layoffs, Amazon said it was looking to reset its culture.
